Last week in the South, the top pitcher, performer and player was Virgilio Neverz. He went on a tear that made him an easy choice for the South Player of the Week Award.

| Friday, August 7th, 1936: Plano Blanks Whipsaws, Neverz at His Best
In an excellent mound performance, Virgilio Neverz of the Plano Marshalls whitewashed the Coacalco Whipsaws 3-0 on a 3-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The Coacalco manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Neverz did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the Plano hurler rang up 1 strikeout and 3 walks in the shutout win.
This season Neverz has compiled a 10-10 mark with a 3.64 ERA.

Sometimes even Virgilio Neverz of Plano isn't sure which pitcher will show up when he takes the mound.
"I've been good sometimes and bad sometimes," he said.
This time he made the Los Reyes Monkeys look bad 4-0.
