Breaking News Friday, September 11th, 1936: Enzo Worden Picked TEXAAA's Best Hitter One of the North's most prestigious honors is the Outstanding Hitter Award. When all the votes were counted, the 1936 recipient was the talented center fielder of the Soledad Palms, Enzo Worden. He starred this season with a .306 batting average, 124 hits, 6 home runs, 46 RBIs, .408 OBP and 73 runs scored. For being named the TEXAAA's top hitter, Worden will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. Monday, August 17th, 1936: TEXAAA Names Best Player José Carlos Marentez punched, poked and pummeled the baseball last week and today he garnered a majority of the votes for the North Player of the Week award. The Soledad Palms left fielder slashed out a .500 average with 8 hits in 16 at-bats, 1 home run and 6 RBIs.
