| Breaking News |  | Saturday, September 26th, 1936: Puebla Wins Texican Series! It was a storybook year for the Puebla Pericos as they closed out a 4-1 series win over the Ft Worth Cats to claim the 1936 Texican Series. They wrapped it up with a 5-3 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 1st championship.
The Pericos manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a Texican Series."
"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Cats manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."
During the South regular season Puebla put up a 98-56 record and finished first. |  | Thursday, September 24th, 1936: Lalo Pitches Puebla to Shutout Victory Babe Lalo had the Ft Worth Cats dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 11-0 shutout performance for the Puebla Pericos. He gave up 4 hits and collected 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.
Ft Worth hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery.
The opposing manager said, "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point. We just never figured him out."
