 | Sunday, September 13th, 1936: Rochs Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Efraín Rochs was unstoppable, but his club, the Senators, was not unbeatable. Despite his hitting heroics they lost to the Beaumont Exporters 12-9. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His only consolation will be a rise in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book.
Rochs just shook his head after the game, saying to the SION reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins...not the most hits."
E. Rochs singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off C. Gorrindo in the 8th.
Rochs currently has a .296 batting average with 136 hits, 3 homers, 33 RBIs, 63 runs scored and a .323 OBP.

It is unknown at this time if there is any truth to the rumor that Austin's Amelio Rodalles has asked his team for a trade. Insiders indicate the second baseman may not be happy with the club management. So far, the team's owners have refused to comment.
