Thursday, September 10th, 1936: Houston's Yeoman Down with Injury
Bubbles Yeoman of the Houston Buffaloes could be headed for the disabled list after suffering a hyperextended elbow in a game against the Beaumont Exporters. He is expected to miss at least 5-6 weeks. The Houston third baseman was injured throwing the ball. Yeoman said, "Right now I am pretty sore and I don't feel very good at all."

This season Yeoman has 14 home runs and a .289 batting average.
Monday, August 31st, 1936: Potent Bat Pays Off, Romen Player of the Week
It was a fantastic week for Houston second baseman Andrés Romen and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the North Player of the Week Award.

Last week Romen hammered the ball at a torrid .524 pace, going 11-21 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and 7 runs scored.

Romen is swinging at a .328 pace on the year with 6 home runs, 45 RBIs and 79 runs scored. He has played in 105 games.
Thursday, August 27th, 1936: Noa Bashes 5 Base Hits
After the Houston 9-2 victory over San Luis and his 5-hit day first baseman Darwin Noa told SION beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good...three or four hits even better...5 or more are out of sight...and if it is in pro ball...it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."

The 27-year-old player gained that distinction today at Buff Stadium with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the San Luis Tuneros.

The skipper of the Buffaloes spoke glowingly of Noa, telling SION writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Darwin did that to perfection today."

D. Noa hit a three-run home run off J. Bartlett in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off R. Navsarrete in the 8th.

Noa is batting .274 in 1936 with 7 home runs, 51 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He has 96 hits in 351 at-bats.
