Saturday, April 3rd, 1937: 5-5 Game for Crump
Who needs batting practice? Oliver Crump of Hot Springs apparently doesn't as he battered Houma with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 12-2 win.

He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?"

O. Crump singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 7th.

Monday, August 17th, 1936: Barrage of Hits Gets Stockwell SAAAA Award
All week long Pierre Stockwell made the highlight reels and made headlines -- his name and face were everywhere. So it was no surprise to anyone when he was chosen the East's Player of the Week for his standout performance.

Stockwell put up a solid set of stats, compiling a .444 average (8-18) and contributing 3 home runs and 6 RBIs to claim the honor.

This season in 116 games Stockwell is batting .315 with 3 home runs, 60 RBIs and has scored 53 times.
Thursday, August 6th, 1936: Houma Blanks Central Somers Behind Gill
Doctor Gill of the Houma Hawks really strutted his stuff on the mound today with a 1-0 victory. He was almost untouchable, bewildering the Central Somers Dynamos with a 4-hit shutout in which he struck out 3 and gave up 1 walk.

To this point in the season Gill has 16 wins and 3 losses and a 1.52 ERA.
