| Breaking News |  | Friday, August 7th, 1936: Tupper Brilliant, Blanks Heaters Ed Tupper of the Hialeah Turmoil just toyed with the Midland Heaters today, blanking them 10-0. He was almost untouchable, baffling them on a 2-hit shutout with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Tupper said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there."
One of his teammates said it was easy to play behind him today. "It was like he's just playing with the hitters and doing whatever he wanted to do."
This year Tupper has registered 12 wins and 6 losses in 25 starts with a 2.72 ERA while registering 101 strikeouts and 93 walks in 182 innings. |  | Tuesday, August 4th, 1936: Lenard Tosses Shutout for Houma Houma's Crow Lenard breezed through the Heaters lineup today, collecting a 4-hit shutout and a 6-0 victory along the way. Lenard fanned 3 as well.
"I didn't really feel like I had my game today," Lenard confessed, "but some days are like that -- you just gotta go with what you have."
This season Lenard has made no relief appearances with no saves.
