Sunday, September 13th, 1936: Rainiers Mathis Blanks Indians
Seattle hurler Thad Mathis put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Spokane Indians with a 11-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 6 hits with 2 strikeouts and no walks to pick up the win.

The opposing manager told reporters after the game, "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball."

In 1936 Mathis has logged 8 wins and 16 losses and struck out 52 batters in 213.1 innings while compiling a 4.35 ERA.
Tuesday, September 1st, 1936: PCL Choice for Batter of the Month is Pike
Clifton Pike put his mark on the North this August by putting together some award-winning numbers. Seattle's third baseman took home the Batter of the Month award on the strength of his .400 batting average.

He tacked up 40 hits, 3 home runs, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

This season Pike is hitting at a .351 pace with 5 home runs, 62 RBIs and has scored 81 times.
Monday, August 31st, 1936: PCL Names Best Player
His solid numbers speak for themselves. That's why Clifton Pike of the Seattle Rainiers was named the North Player of the Week.

For the week Pike batted .478 (11-23) with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs.
