Breaking News Wednesday, September 9th, 1936: Revern Blanks Almendares Román Revern spun his magic in a 3-0 shutout victory, allowing 4 hits while totaling 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. The Havana pitcher put quite a spell on Almendares in a strong performance. "I had a lot of good things working in this one," Revern said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count." In 1936, Revern has chalked up 17 wins and 15 losses in 38 starts with 142 strikeouts in 294.2 innings and a 3.91 ERA. Monday, September 7th, 1936: Best Player Award Caps Great Week This week's best performer in the Atlantic was second baseman Bernardo Guerra of the Havana Sugar Kings.
