Rodrigo Madrid of the Cienfuegos Elefantes was one tough customer on the hill today. He blanked the Escogido Leones 10-0 on 1 hit, registering 3 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"When he's on, he's tough to hit," said the Escogido manager after the game. "He's just a bulldog out there."
In 1936 Madrid has a 25-13 record with a 2.88 ERA.

In an impressive outing, Raúl Rentera whitewashed the Cienfuegos Elefantes 12-0.
"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Rentera, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.
"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."
The Caguas hurler held Cienfuegos scoreless, allowed 5 hits, chalked up 1 strikeout and yielded 2 walks.
So far this year Rentera has compiled a 15-8 record with a 3.50 ERA.
