Monday, September 14th, 1936: Star of the Week Awarded in IND
The Player of the Week has been announced by the West. The award went to Coy Blain, first baseman of the Kansas City Monarchs.

He dominated league pitchers with a .519 average to win the honor. Blain went 14-27 for the week, totaled no home runs with 6 RBIs and scored 4 times.

In his 1936 season totals, Blain has 3 home runs, .356 BA, .428 OBP, 56 RBIs and 87 runs scored.
Saturday, September 12th, 1936: Trout Dominates St Louis
After his 8-0 shutout win against the Stars, Heath Trout said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."

They were better than good as the Monarchs pitcher put up 3 strikeouts, surrendered 4 walks, allowed 6 hits and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.

In 1936 Trout has compiled a 16-11 record with a 3.92 ERA in 30 starts.
