Monday, September 7th, 1936: IND's Star Player Named

The 30-year-old right fielder put up a .556 average with a .571 on-base percentage, racking up 15 hits in 27 at-bats, 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 9 runs scored.

Posting a .324 batting average to date, Gordan has 9 home runs and 77 RBIs.
Saturday, September 5th, 1936: American Giants Blanked by Enright
"That was one of my best outings," said Norman Enright. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."

It was an impressive start for the Buckeyes hurler. He blanked the American Giants 8-0 on a strong 4-hitter while ringing up 6 strikeouts and doling out 1 walk.

In 1936, Enright has a 15-7 mark in 27 starts with a 2.67 ERA. He has given up 209 hits in 206 innings, struck out 69 and issued 34 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .262 batting average against him.
Tuesday, September 1st, 1936: 5-Hits Blitz by Baer
Today the Buckeyes downed the Eagles 7-6 as Rudy Baer sprayed hits all over League Park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing up with 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

The Cleveland second baseman said to TSW reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today, and I didn't miss any of them."

R. Baer singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.

Year-to-date in 111 games Baer has compiled a .284 batting average with 116 hits and 5 home runs. He has also scored 61 times and knocked in 44 runs.
