Saturday, September 12th, 1936: Trout Dominates St Louis
After his 8-0 shutout win against the Stars, Heath Trout said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."

They were better than good as the Monarchs pitcher put up 3 strikeouts, surrendered 4 walks, allowed 6 hits and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.

In 1936 Trout has compiled a 16-11 record with a 3.92 ERA in 30 starts.
Friday, September 4th, 1936: Behrens Out 1-2 Weeks with Injury
After injuring himself, Stars starting pitcher Winfield Behrens headed straight to the hospital. He was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch and the team's worst fears were confirmed when it turned out to be a little more serious. Behrens will miss at least 1-2 weeks with dead arm syndrome.

This year in 26 starts, Behrens has recorded 10 wins and absorbed 10 losses. He has pitched 188.2 innings, allowed 220 hits, struck out 83 and has a 5.10 ERA.
Tuesday, August 25th, 1936: Whitman Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Kansas City third baseman Bird Whitman could do no wrong in today's 19-10 win over the Stars as he collected 5 hits.

"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor...he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Stars said to the press corps after the game.

Whitman agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

B. Whitman singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off J. Calvert in the 8th.

Whitman is currently batting .296 with 12 home runs and 78 RBIs.
