Monday, September 7th, 1936: 5-Hit Game for Bush!
Emmett Bush of the Elite Giants was unstoppable in today's 10-5 victory over the Pittsburgh Crawfords at Tom Wilson Park. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Baltimore first baseman after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."

E. Bush singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

In 1936 Bush is batting .288 with 17 home runs and 86 RBIs.
Tuesday, September 1st, 1936: IND Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Whenever Crawfords catcher Henry Swift stepped into the batter's box last month, the 21-year-old meant business. With his .300 average he virtually ran away with the East Rookie of the Month Award.

He collected 24 hits in August with 1 home run, 16 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

This season Swift is hitting .286 with 2 home runs.
Sunday, August 30th, 1936: Hits Galore! Lovitt Drills 5 Hits!
The of David whipped the Crawfords 10-3 at Benton Harbor Stadium and Reverend Lovitt had a big hand in the win. The of David right fielder came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Lovitt and a tough day for Pittsburgh.

"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."

Plan or not, Lovitt delivered today -- 5-5 is outstanding in any league.

R. Lovitt singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off G. Wooley in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This season in 115 games Lovitt is batting .300 with 3 home runs, 65 RBIs and has scored 57 times.
