Allegedly, Skippy Welch has asked to be traded from Homestead. It is rumored that he is unhappy with fans and the team management and that maybe the pressure and demands of playing here are too great.

It appears to be only a rumor, but earlier today, fans around Homestead were buzzing with the news that their 28-year old starting pitcher Lynn Mcmillan had been asking for a trade. "I couldn't imagine him saying bad things about Homestead or wanting to leave." said one person.

Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Oscar Chance of the Grays knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Newark Eagles while colliding with a player at a base. Diagnosed as a ruptured disc, the Homestead third baseman is expected to miss 10-11 months. Chance was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "There is nothing I can do now. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
So far this year Chance is batting .336 with 7 home runs, 83 RBIs and 92 runs scored.
