| Breaking News | | Thursday, September 24th, 1936: St Paul's Mustard Asked for Trade. Fact or Fiction? It is unknown at this time if there is any truth to the rumor that St Paul's Marshall Mustard has asked his team for a trade. Insiders indicate the third baseman may not be happy with the club management. So far, the team's owners have refused to comment. | | Thursday, September 24th, 1936: SP Mccullough, St Paul Craft Extension St Paul received a bit of good news today as their starting pitcher Dad Mccullough accepted a $56,120-per-year offer that will keep him in a Saints uniform for 4 years.
This year Mccullough has a 18-23 mark in 51 starts with a 4.08 ERA. He has given up 432 hits in 390.1 innings, struck out 142 and issued 201 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .283 batting average against him. | | Sunday, September 13th, 1936: 5-Hits Blitz by Hoffman It seemed that St Paul right fielder Sal Hoffman could do no wrong as the Saints kayoed the Blues 7-3 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Kansas City pitchers couldn't get him out as Hoffman seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Saints were stealing signs." growled one unhappy Kansas City fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play." exclaimed the jubilant Hoffman in the postgame press interview.
S. Hoffman hit an RBI single in the 1st, tripled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off W. Lewis in the 9th.
This year Hoffman is batting .333 with 8 home runs. He has scored 82 runs and driven in 84. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | LF Earl Mchenry | dislocated shoulder | 7 months | On DL, eligible for return | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 82-72, .532 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 8.0 GB | | Record at home | 40-37, .519 PCT | | Record on the road | 42-35, .545 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 10-9, .526 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 22-20, .524 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 18-20, .474 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 64-52, .552 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in May | 16-12, .571 PCT | | Record in June | 11-16, .407 PCT | | Record in July | 10-16, .385 PCT | | Record in August | 17-10, .630 PCT | | Record in September | 13-5, .722 PCT |
