| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, September 9th, 1936: Kansas City's Ricketts Shuts Out Braves In an outstanding outing, Timothy Ricketts tamed Wichita on a 4-hit shutout. The Kansas City hurler went the distance, finishing with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 15-0 win.
"He had a lot of first pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to the Wichita manager. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
This year Ricketts has a 19-12 mark in 36 starts with a 3.12 ERA. He has given up 287 hits in 294 innings, struck out 146 and issued 83 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .259 batting average against him. |  | Monday, August 3rd, 1936: Star of the Week Named in AA Tulio Mcnamara of the Wichita Braves had an enormous week at the plate and today was voted the Player of the Week by the West.
For the week Mcnamara batted .360 (9-25) with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs.
This year Mcnamara has hit at a .271 pace and produced 68 RBIs, 17 home runs and scored 68 runs. |  | Saturday, August 1st, 1936: Wichita Newcomer July's #1 Rookie Tulio Mcnamara's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Wichita center fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.
In July he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.
During the month he hit .308 with 2 doubles, 3 triples and 4 home runs. Mcnamara also scored 15 times and drove in 19 runs.
