Tuesday, September 29th, 1936: Kansas City Wins 1936 American Series!
The Kansas City Blues ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Louisville Colonels 8-7 to win the American Series.

Kansas City won the series 4-3, capturing the title for the 1st time.

"We stepped it up at the right time...now we're the champs...it's a great feeling," the victorious manager exclaimed to the press.

The champs finished the regular season 90-64 and claimed first place in the West.

In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, the Blues owner proudly stated, "I am so happy for our city. Our great fans deserve this. I just hope they don't tear up the town celebrating too much."

The 36-year-old hit .625 (15-24) with 1 home run and 5 runs batted in.

This year Ivy is hitting .292 with 6 home runs.
Sunday, September 13th, 1936: 5-Hits Blitz by Hoffman
It seemed that St Paul right fielder Sal Hoffman could do no wrong as the Saints kayoed the Blues 7-3 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Kansas City pitchers couldn't get him out as Hoffman seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.

"I think the Saints were stealing signs." growled one unhappy Kansas City fan.

"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play." exclaimed the jubilant Hoffman in the postgame press interview.

S. Hoffman hit an RBI single in the 1st, tripled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off W. Lewis in the 9th.

This year Hoffman is batting .333 with 8 home runs. He has scored 82 runs and driven in 84.
