| Breaking News |  | Monday, September 7th, 1936: Week's Premier Player - Minneapolis's Crosby There was no one hotter in the West last week as Buzz Crosby attacked enemy pitching with a vengeance to collect the Player of the Week Award.
The 21-year-old Minneapolis third baseman batted .609 with 14 hits in 23 at-bats, no home runs and 10 RBIs.
Currently Crosby has 4 home runs and a .338 batting average. |  | Monday, August 24th, 1936: Saints Shut Out Millers In a knockout performance, Egbert Helms beat the Millers 8-0 with an impressive 6-hit shutout.
The Saints hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
Helms told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."
The Millers manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."
Year-to-date Helms has made 44 starts and put up a 23-12 won-lost record with a 3.27 ERA.
