The Kansas City Blues ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Louisville Colonels 8-7 to win the American Series.

Kansas City won the series 4-3, capturing the title for the 1st time.

"We stepped it up at the right time...now we're the champs...it's a great feeling," the victorious manager exclaimed to the press.

Saturday, September 5th, 1936: Turner Has Nagging Injury, Listed DTD
Virgil Turner, the talented Louisville star, suffered a strained back muscle yesterday in the game with the Brewers, which could keep him out of today's lineup. "I'm a bit banged up," said the 31-year-old starting pitcher, "but we won't know until game time if I can play or not." Turner got hurt while throwing a pitch. The team doctor said he could be out up to 2 weeks.

This season Turner has a 26-7 record with a 2.34 ERA.
