He was one of the most dangerous men in league when he had a bat in his hand and the South announced today that he had won the Outstanding Hitter Award for the year 1936.
The Coacalco left fielder shellshocked opposing moundsmen with a .335 batting average, 27 doubles, 5 triples, 9 home runs and 69 RBIs while compiling a .488 on-base percentage and scoring 79 runs.
The annual SBWA awards banquet is this weekend. All of the major award winners will be there to be honored for their outstanding achievements this past season. |  | Friday, September 11th, 1936: Enzo Worden Picked TEXAAA's Best Hitter One of the North's most prestigious honors is the Outstanding Hitter Award. When all the votes were counted, the 1936 recipient was the talented center fielder of the Soledad Palms, Enzo Worden.
He starred this season with a .306 batting average, 124 hits, 6 home runs, 46 RBIs, .408 OBP and 73 runs scored.
For being named the TEXAAA's top hitter, Worden will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. |  | Thursday, September 10th, 1936: Vivcinco Named TEXAAA's #1 Hurler Socks Vivcinco had a spectacular year for Lubbock in 1936, putting up 23 wins for the Lava to walk away with the South Outstanding Pitcher Award trophy.
He finished the season with a 23-11 mark, 283 strikeouts and a 2.81 ERA. In 54 starts Vivcinco surrendered 307 hits and 123 walks in 378.1 innings on the mound.
