League awards will be announced over the coming weeks, but while players head for vacations and the ballparks are empty, there is plenty going on behind the scenes. The offseason is a time for baseball's front office gurus to turn their attention to getting key players under contract, making key financial decisions and for laying the groundwork for next year's campaign.

It was a storybook year for the Puebla Pericos as they closed out a 4-1 series win over the Ft Worth Cats to claim the 1936 Texican Series. They wrapped it up with a 5-3 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 1st championship.
The Pericos manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a Texican Series."
"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Cats manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."
